This was the title as I had ordered it to me - unfortunately it is but not a NAS (Network Attached Storage) - but only ne quite fast USB 3.0 "hard drive" - Anyone who wants to stream files in the network is not happy with this! There is no way to use this device as a network drive. -> Addendum: the name has now been adapted ...

The software on the disk also for setting up and changing the settings Raid is not currently available on the web - a backup is therefore strongly recommended.

The two hard drives automatically to a RAID group (RAID 0) will thereby already together - so you have to do nothing more for it - as a raid but was not on security (RAID 1) set - ie data therefore not mirrored but set in Raid composite so, that the full drive capacity is used, which increases the speed
Note: The data on the disks are only in the raid and in this case can be used - a plate adopted in Raid 0 (default setting), then all data is lost (also on the 2nd drive) - you can not so the second ( easy to install good) disk into the PC and pull down the data there.
For more security at the expense of the capacity is also the Raid can with little effort using the supplied "WD Drive Utilities" easily reconfigured.
So if you want to be more careful here should disable preset Raid 0 and the plates individually use (which makes little sense in my opinion, then it is recommended rather equal to 2 external USB disks to buy)
or better Raid 1 set - so that does reduce the capacity to 3GB for this can then be exchanged without any problems with a new one without losing data, a defective plate - That would be my recommendation, if one manages space with 3 TB - the best out of the box and Backing up the existing software on the drive.

Good packaging - quickly unpacked and plugged - best ...
Ready for immediate use, preformatted and as a RAID array (RAID 0) with the two hard disks drives to use the full capacity of 6TB almost finished set up - that is also suitable for any beginner.

As USB 3.0 hard drive for data backup on the other hand does the WD My Book Duo what it is - and quite fast ... - but the promised up to 290 MB / s are more into the realm of dreams
Be JPEG and MP3 files about 40 MB / s
Larger files such as video files up to 80 MB / s

Also interesting is the ability to protect data with a password - This allows access without a password is virtually impossible

As plates quality 3TB HDDs Red are installed by WD, which are a little more expensive, but optimized to stressful long maturities.
Conclusion:
Apart from the misleading term very decent USB drive with very high data capacity: 6TB
That's enough for a lot of photos and videos plus an additional backup database of your own PC
Installed are quality hard drives that long should be stable - there is also the option to raid also turn automatic data mirroring - who not manage with 3TB, which are the 2x4 (Prei-Performance-wise also very interesting) or even the 2x6 (priced but currently of little interest ) versions recommended.
