Klarstein "Vita Blue" quieter stainless steel kettle made of glass with an attractive, blue LED interior lighting (1.7 liters, 2200 Watt, Cool Touch)

Customer Review

is actually only water to a boil.

Exactly creates this stove as well. Approximately 20 seconds after the cooking of this also turns off reliably.
If you take the kettle from the base at an early stage, so it is indeed from (clearly, the power is gone) but he does not switch off. Then one sees him back to the base, he cooks on, regardless of whether water is in it or not. So you have to manually activate and deactivate the switch. However, one can hardly forget, since he has blue LED light ring. Since I anyway only take from the base when he has shut himself the maker, makes this point not matter to me. I imagine, for one or two tea drinkers but already.

Glass and metal predominate, and so the boiler has a curb weight of just over one kilogram (1056g). The strong, well located in the handle has no sharp edges and provides a safe feeling when pouring. He makes the slightly higher weight for me loose up for it.

The small screen on the spout (Schnabel) does not prevent small particles or lime through, because it is not flush with the glass finishes (distance about 2 mm), but it effectively prevents that it squirts out of the pot while cooking. So it's more a good splash as a particulate filter (strainer).
CORRECTION: Today I noticed that the screen with no gap present at the glass. This must be well come through the use and heat. Thus the screen, in addition to the splash guard now actually also a filter function.

The stove could certainly be much more effective when the entire hob will heat the water. Through the glass you can observe very good as the water bubbles only form a semicircle and the rest of the hotplate obviously has no heating element underneath.

Because the pot is narrower upwards, you have to tilt it a little steep when pouring upwards. This of course is just the case when you heat only small amounts of water. My old Siemens-cooker had the wall straight and I have to get used some reason.

This Siemens cooker was made of plastic so easily, he was geradwandigt, and has also shut down as soon as I took it from the base. All advantages as one can think at first. But far from it.

For hygienic reasons, it is always to boil the kettle finished meaningful and await the Nachkochzeit to even the remaining space in the digester, where only get there steam, or in inaccessible places (lid, hinges) can collect bacteria and fungi, effectively sterilize.

Plastic is indeed lighter than glass, but with time (and a lot of heat) is plastic brittle and breaks. So I could watch when cleaning as plastic particles in the kettle landed or fell off while wiping. High time for a new boiler and that a glass or stainless steel.

I opted for glass because I have an insight into the kettle here. If so slightly swim in it or the water turbid, so I realize this. I think glass simply causes to handle something more hygienic water. A zugekalkter kettle is not only unhygienic, but you also wasted a lot of energy, because lime inhibits heat transfer. At the end may be damaged by the heat build-up, the heating element.

The base has a cable compartment, so you do not have to hide the total cable length somewhere. It handles only as much cable as you really need.

Visually, the kettle is also very appealing. The combination of black, glass, stainless steel and blue lighting already what makes her. Then, when the water bubbles dancing in the blue light, which is already a small spectacle. (Well - you get used to anything.)

At the end is only one drawback for me - he does not turn off when you leave takes him from the base. But I can live with, because it hardly ever occurs or one immediately notices when resetting because the blue LEDs light up. It may even be to the advantage when filling with only a little water and then not again switched needs. Well - taste and habit thing up.

There are also fitted to this stove plastic parts, it smells a little initially to plastic. This odor, however, fades away quite fast. I can make no smell now a week.
CORRECTION: No odor concerns for the time being the cold state. After the water is boiling, at least once you ever managed to poke his nose, a minimal odor to determine. I think that also the passes.
The only direct contact with the water is really just the seal between the heating plate and glass. I assume that this seal is made of silicone, as (so bakeware, spoons) is otherwise used in kitchen utensils, and so is harmless.

Otherwise, this kettle is reliable, hygienic and visual highlight.

So, now almost 8 months later ...

The kettle does still here obediently his service. He is repeatedly forced to work every day :)

I must say I regret not buying and am fully satisfied with it.

Here are two tips in dealing with the boiler:

1) If lime is in the water, the boiler will naturally start also lime. This on the one hand on the glass, where it naturally does not look very nice, but particularly to the hob, because there arises the greatest heat. And that's why I've chosen a kettle made of glass. The lime which now hangs on the stove, no longer is in the water, and that's a good thing. Who wants to drink lime?
Now the lime must be removed only from the digester. But this is a trifle. In addition one can after pouring the boiling water a small amount in the cooker back 1-2mm. Because inside is added a pinch of citric acid. I use crystalline citric acid (looks like salt). The kilo costs about 2.50 euros, ranging hmmm ... a lifetime. Then briefly a couple of times already and swung the kettle looks like new. Then briefly rinse with clear water, ready. Total time, not 10 seconds. That makes it about 1 time a week, or depending on how tidy you are, and how the water is calcareous.

2) I use deliberately not vinegar, because it stinks (a) and (b) may attack certain seals. Vinegar acts weak and is therefore often left very long in the unit (cooker, coffee maker). Accordingly vinegar also has longer time to act on seals and rubber linings. So if already vinegar, then, but never "about eight" as short as possible.

3) I put the kettle after use, while still hot, completely emptied and returned with the lid open, on the base. This dries in no time and there are no water droplets on glass. The boiler is characterized as ruckzuck in tatellosem state.

4) Stay away from standing water !!! This sentence should be well noted each. Even plumbers know that better separates an Unused line because here otherwise takes place contamination. By cisterns can break due to lack of water circulation Legionnaires' disease. Since I'm going to grow just in my kettle germs?

That's it for now;) ... bye.
