Many converted DVDs have no sound. The device has apparently still massive problems in the detection of Dolby 5.1 soundtracks. In the relevant forums (eg hi-Forum), the action is often to read about, but no one has a solution that works or an explanation.
The only by-pass would be the conversion to 2-channel (stereo) sound, but this is no real solution for me that would make me happy.
Many videos and existing Anchor links are not working - on the PC (eg VLC Media Player) all is well. Also, it often happens that not even the fast bobbin work, for no apparent reason. Furthermore, often there is a case that a video file can be played at first, but after this no longer (message "not-supported format"). The firmware update 1:02 has probably improved a lot, but there is still much in disarray.
Annoying is that Anchor links (as a matter of logic and common) are not further switch via the appropriate keys>, but only through the detour via the menu. Since the brands are not even numbered, it is a pure left in the dark, which you just enabled the brands.
My only hope is that vague for "spring" announced new update. But for normal claims is sufficient.
Update:
I have now found a program that the conversion of DVDs to MKV so done that the tracks remain readable: MakeMKV (currently still free). But the video remains in MPEG2 format, so that a movie file unfortunately is correspondingly high (4..8 GB). The conversion to MPEG4 with x264 means StaxRip seem to change the traces so that they often can not play the player. Too bad, because the files are then usually less than 1 GB, despite having the same quality.
So after all, a compromise that is enough for me for now.
