This is a story of outsiders, from the margins of Japanese society, from the shady side of the skyscrapers of Tokyo. Four women of different ages to work as temporary workers on the night shift at an assembly line for the production of ready meals. What unites them is their failure to obtain a well-paid day job. Together they defy the tough & benefits and the daily humiliations. One day Yayoi murdered her husband Kenji after it has squandered the life savings of the four-member family in gambling and prostitutes. Headed by Masako women dismember the body and dispose of the items, but of course the murder remains undiscovered neither nor inconsequential. The police arrested initially a nightclub owner, but actually succeeds women increasingly deal with fact and its direct and indirect consequences. Greed and jealousy beyond the Community. Satake, the now freed by police nightclub owner, meditates in turn for revenge. The lives of women running permanently out of control. Kirino succeeds slowly and inexorably escalate the story. The women are described relentlessly and are always victims and perpetrators at the same time. The end brings an unexpected, but not implausible twist.
