I'm a total John Mayer (Trio) fan and have totally enjoyed myself when I heard that Mayer picks up the plate with Palladino / Jordan. Since I make music, I'm very focused on the instruments (ie on the guitar work of Mayer and of colleagues Palladino Bass / Jordan-Drums) and therefore had to swallow first. The Full CD is in this regard very well behaved and unfortunately shows no great delicacy, no special Intro`s like Neon, Stop This Train, Slow Dancing In A Burning Room or as in the great song Gravity. No, Battle Studies is very "easy" has become, well designed and very "cozy". Of course, on a very large Niveu as we are by John Mayer usual. Have it read here that it processed / HAT a new phase of life his grief and you can hear out of here. The CD has Popanteile and it would not surprise me if it creates a song on the radio and John Mayer again "every great" :-( place like the hit "Your Body Is a Wonderland". What I find unfortunate that the song "Say" was not packed by Soudtrack "The Wish List" with it, and would have fit the song deserved. My personal Anspieltips: Heartbreak Warfare- beautiful round opener Half of my Heart- with the female singer Taylor Swift Country Crossroads- Yeah, here you can hear his model / colleague Clapton raus great rock tune! Edge of Desire- My favorite number of the CD. Beautiful ballad
Conclusion: A beautiful cuddly CD (romantic ??) :-) winter evenings, as well as a CD for "time to time" listening-just relaxing. Who wants to have an "ultimate all-purpose CD" (Unplugged, rock, Ballden, Trio, complete band) from Mayer, I recommend the Live CD "where the light is"
