- This thing is smaller than I thought. Although a bit long about 30cm, but my previous 400mm Soligor 1: 6.3 is considerably longer and wider and heavier.
- The weight is relatively low and the lens processed well.
- The screw clamp fits well and who does not attract too hard it does not matter even broken (plastic)
- The image quality in daylight is useful - not great but from the tripod on non-moving targets surprisingly good.
- You need light or slow shutter speeds (max aperture 8.) Or a camera that makes even good images even at high ISO values. I tested with a D70 and D5100. Under normal conditions, you can not take pictures out of hand with the D70. With the D5100 does it, if you take compromising resolution in buying (ISO 800 and higher)
- Shots of the moon (for've ichŽs added myself) - Here am really surprised been. The lens could be unable to focus on larger 500m distances. Nanu I thought - but a bad buy? - But then I read a notice that you can adjust the stop of the lens. So the gum away (is stuck at only one location) - screw out (Phillips) and tada ... can be to focus perfectly - even on the moon out :). the images were so good that I immediately tried it a 2x converter. And I can only say I am completely satisfied.
I really wanted the objective to sell again after the moon's in the box, but I keep it now yet further.
Conclusion:
For people who just "snap" want unsuitable because
- No autofocus
- Rework necessary (Unendlichfokus adjust, otherwise blurred images)
- Good tripod required (with my first low-tripod the images were not doll - with my Manfrotto 294 really sharp)
- Patience when focusing (best live view and magnification) required
- No exposure - therefore test shots necessary or bracketing
I have some pictures to look at set previously.
