First, I had the same technically Acer S ordered in 1200, which is, however, equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lens and therefore costs 180 euros more. In 1 m distance it produces on the wall a picture of 200 x 150 cm. For smaller images you have ran to 50 cm on the canvas. Disadvantage: Notebook and other sources are then rather the viewer, thus farther away, which requires longer connection cables. The device did not push, but was "zoomed" so to speak by hand by changing the spacing devices. Subjectively, I also had the impression that the image in the border area - perhaps through the wide-angle lens - did not provide the absolute sharpness, but that was only visible to the test raster image. So wrapped up immediately and easily return to Amazon.
Acer P 1266 I ordered the same day as normal DHL delivery, it was 23:12., At 17:30 clock. Hard to believe, but true: 24.12. at 13:30 rang DHL and delivered from the projector! Amazon is unbeatable customer service and just great class.
The projector is well-protected, a bag is included on a CD and there is a detailed manual in German. All necessary connecting cables are, however, no HDMI cable. Then immediately ran the first test runs, setting off on all sides great enthusiasm:
+ Excellent color quality of the DLP projector, probably wg. 6 segment color wheel ColorBoost II technology
+ There is no rainbow effect (it is criticized often in other DLP projectors)
+ Very bright image even in ECO mode (use only ECO lamp shall then hold up to 4000 hours)
+ Fan is barely audible, the notebook is louder
+ HDMI port supports HDCP,
+ As well as D-Sub analog and composite video comes a sharp image on the wall - a real cinema experience - perfect!
+ Unit has a Zoombreich of 1: 1.2
+ At a distance of 2.80 m, an image of 200x150 cm is created (4: 3 mode)
+ Video or television pictures in 16: 9 format are then 200x110 cm
+ The projector is the size of a DIN A4 page and weighs only 2.5 kg
+ Image quality can be changed through various menu options, a setting even allows projection on a dark blackboard
Are there any negatives? Yes, for me the only one:
- The built-in mono speaker makes a meager 2 watts and has a puny sound (the Acer S1200 were there 8 watt and better sound). He is best suitable as Notlautsprecher presentations in small rooms. However, since video and TV sound for cinema experiences are always amplified by a real 5.1 system, you can live with it.
Conclusion:
the whole family is delighted with the projector, everyone wants now constantly what to do with the projector, it is now running almost every day - and without a murmur. A very wide canvas we have, incidentally, as a white, lichundurchlässiges Rollo with the moose for under 30 Euros found in a furniture store. Works great.
I'd buy Acer P 1266 once again, it meets all the selection conditions. And the Amazon price is really hot with 519 Euro and without additional shipping costs. I recommend: buy without hesitation!
