Because I was dissatisfied with my "conventional" radio alarm clock for various reasons, I have decided to zuzulegen an Internet radio.
Prerequisite for the purchase was an integrated alarm function, sleep timer and an RJ45 Adapters. WiFi is at home, although present with me, but of always-Fi I wanted to abstain.
My decision was then quickly to the Hama IR100 which is connected via LAN cable to the Internet or router.
Since this is my first internet radio, I can not draw any conclusions about other devices.
The Hama IR100 is quickly set up and prepared by the "Setup Wizard" for the operation.
Visually, the "dice" with its piano-black front a very good appearance.
Available radio stations can be searched by genre and country what to search for specific stations considerably easier.
In the menu there are also the point "last part" which is very good I like that because it is not equal to each transmitter stores as favorite.
So far (as of 06/06/2013) I have not registered my device on the Internet, but this will possibly make up for at a later date yet. Favorites can also press and hold the "Select" key to be added (see also operating instructions on page 28).
The sound of Hama IR100 is really very good and convinced me in every aspect. From crackling or other sounds I have not noticed anything, but noted that was connected with me via RJ45. Wireless I have not yet tested.
The display is separated for the switched-on as well as the stand-by operation of each other right in 3 stages Dimmable (high / medium / low) and to my mind in setting medium for standby.
The Sleep Timer or snooze for 15 min, 30 min, 45 min or 60 min on the snooze button on top of the device or by remote control adjustable.
The included remote control could indeed be something-quality, but served its purpose.
The online connection of internet radio is disconnected by operating in the state, and only established or re-established when turning on the Hama IR100.
The Hama IR100 has completely convinced me, gets me 5 star and a strong buy recommendation.
Update 21/06/2013
The balance of time and date is also automatically available on the internet .....
The menu item for setting the time zone (for Germany UTC +01: 00) and daylight saving time are, however, only after activating the Automatic Updates under the menu Time settings visible.
Update 02/08/2013
Meanwhile I bought IR100 which is a second Hama in my living room, and is also connected via LAN cable.
The initial setup was simple this time and did not reveal any problems.
Produces audio on my Samsung HW-F350 Soundbar what about IR100 supplied jack in Hama - jack cable is connected. The built-in Internet radio speakers are automatically muted when you connect a cable to the Line Out.
My vote stays with 5 stars because I am very satisfied with both devices to date.
Update 27/10/2013
To be able to adjust in time synchronization via the Internet activated the winter time, the menu for summer and winter time to "OFF" must be provided.
