I could pre-order the camera already in a German photo-shop and refer last week (end of April '14).
first course falls on the mega lens ... more than 550 grams must indeed remain somewhere. but that was clear.
- Has very positively surprised me the speed with which it is ready for use! within a good second is objectively fully extended.
- When the camera is on the table and is turned on, the camera tilts forward over. but when you flip out the screen, you have a counterweight.
- The display looks at first glance very shaky, but the attachment is made of metal. I have already solved a hundred times from above and from below and moves. it is rigid and fits like a glove. I can do without swing on.
- The two front dials are extremely useful and arbitrarily assignable with functions!
a negative point: the switch for the WiFi should better sit elsewhere. you come with your thumb quickly on it and then with snap closing time! Camera will find even when switched off a WiFi point. you can not turn off this in the settings ...
what's missing me luck for my is a pocket ... because the depth is 65mm 5-10mm but a bit too much. I look after Camcorder cases ... should I have found, here comes an addendum.

#### Supplement ####
Now that I had the camera with the 1D Mark III two weeks in operation, I would like to say yet this:
1. The battery keeps the g1xmkii limited, especially if you save (like me) permanently raw. A second battery is required!
2. the imaging performance is awesome for standard photos (landscape, backlight, long time.) Almost no difference.
3. sport (speed) it does not come close.
4. Operation is simple just for Canon fans.
5. fast focusing via touch display. I've now used constantly.
6. the front dials have the first rotating a thinking-second, a little irritated.
7. disturb the two loop strap closures
8. the WiFi button constantly annoying! Here canon should definitely REPLACE a software update so that you can turn off this feature. constantly to get a thumb turn!
9. Manual operation of the flash is in an excellent way; much better than this automatic 'erschrecker'
I would g1xmkii any other compact system and prefer their performance with respect to the sensor and the lens is impressive!
