NiMH cells with particularly low Selbstendladung for 10 years already cause Remedy. Selbige are currently produced from three different companies: the Panasonic subsidiary SANYO (Eneloop), Gold Peak Group (GP ReCyko) and GS Yuasa.
Neither Ansmann (made in China) even at Powerex (made in Taiwan) can be seen which of the four manufacturers actually behind it.
We compared each a double Ansmann 8500 mAh maxE (Part No .: 5035362) with Powerex IMEDION 9500mAh (type: MHRDI2):
1. The remaining capacity of the box was the IMEDION about 6.6Ah, on maxE approximately 7,7Ah. This can be explained by the slightly longer shelf life of the little popular IMEDIONs.
2. The carrying capacity was at about two 9,8Ah - 10Ah. With a charge current of 2A all batteries were fully charged in approximately 5 hours without problems. (A correspondingly powerful charger is recommended, see comments!)
3. After full charge, both the maxE and the IMEDION around 8,8Ah gave out again. In other words, even here there is no difference apart from the usual measuring tolerances.
Conclusion: construction, weight and also the electrical characteristics suggest that we are dealing with two brands by the same manufacturer.
Ansmann has honestly a slightly lower capacity, and thus the customer may appreciate a few mAh Extra.
However, Powerex promises lurid laboratory values far from the practice; almost illegible printed on the battery can be found but then notice "Min. Capacity 8600mAh".
Except for the price to give both brands thus absolutely nothing.
