A Philips SensoTouch 3D -visually the largest Leckerbissen- shaved very thorough, was pleasantly quiet ... unfortunately he faced after a few days as too aggressive out.
A Brown 795 shaved neither particularly good, nor was it pleasant to use him. Bulky housing, unpleasant vibration, expensive and the smell of cleaning fluid I could never endure. In addition, he was just dry usable, which basically made it necessary for me to use Pre Shave.
A Brown 5090CC came currently my idea of thoroughness and skin sparing closest. However, here, too: he was dry at the latest after the third day to "aggressively", shaving just was not pleasant. As a wet razor (yes, that goes without problems, not only with the 5040s!) He was much more pleasant but somehow never the "cream of the crop".
Should I really try a Panasonic? One with 5 blades is not an option, simply seems too big and unwieldy to me. The "cheap" 71'er about? Can he doing at all good for something? Currently costs 120.- not even with cleaning station ... is certainly a cheap plastic part, shaved certainly not thorough and gentler than the brown ... the shaving head is still almost identical. The few reviews did not bring me any more ... oh what the heck, at the rather small amount can do little wrong, got a lot more money sunk for shaving.
Now I have him ... he could even ran. He has eliminated a 3-day beard, he was in daily use and remains only one question: why in the world I have not already bought a Panasonic ?! With my hair trimmer I sat a long time on Panasonic and am more than satisfied with what has held me to buy this razor ?!
It is smaller than the Brown and lighter. A Disadvantage? On the contrary, I think! He takes away little space, even the cleaning station is very moderate in size. He sits comfortably in the hand, it's from the first moment of fun to work with him. I from wear and to a Henriquatre (round-the-mouth-Bart), the Panasonic is very easy to meet the contours of the shaving head is small enough for this. Nevertheless, a shave in 5 minutes is done, for he is so big enough.
Its operating noise is not louder than, for example, in Brown, but higher in frequency. Uncomfortable? I do not find. In addition, the vibration of the Kopes not transferred to the rest of the case, very pleasant. The dry shaving is average, but his true calling, he shows in wet shaving. Fast, thorough and really gentle on the skin. You have to change a little, it requires significantly less pressure than other foil shaver to be thorough. If one notices because the linear motor really? Yes, I think that is among others the secret of his impeccable shave. Is this just a marketing gimmick curved shear blade? I do not think so, it's a part of evolution, the other manufacturers have "slept".
The value ... sure a Brown is a different caliber. But the Panasonic does not look cheap. He is really good in the hand, one must not be afraid to make something broken. And beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, I find the Panasonic quite "sympathetic" one like him simply. Whatever may be (n) sure is the perfect shave for very narrow money.
Is there really nothing to complain about? A little thing maybe: the cleaning and drying process takes too long for me personally and is too loud. Why? The unit will be cleaned intensively over several minutes. After drying by forced uses. The complete cleaning takes about an hour, then the charge starts. I shave in the evening and was accustomed to then place it in the station. This procedure I will have to change, because even through the closed door, the cleaning in a silent apartment perceive (especially at night). Granted, after cleaning the unit is clean and dry, it could be used immediately, with other manufacturers "dripping" of the razor even several hours later.
The cleaning station is fine. It is significantly smaller than the competition and does its job properly. It has a slightly higher cost (1x per month), since the cleaning liquid is a concentrate which is dependent on an additional water tank. The change, however, is easily accomplished in 5 minutes.
The power supply is high, only the connecting line would calm may be a spiral cable. I personally could not care less, but the smooth management's just little obstinate.
The scope of delivery ... fully in my opinion. A neat cap is part of it, what the addition only justifies a sachet, more protection it needs not to travel. Fine machine oil is part of it, if you want to use the station does not, or only rarely ... bravo, no other manufacturer holds the more necessary. The mandatory brush also not missing.
Why am I writing this novel? Because I am sure that it is so many, how I was doing: I was looking for a razor that delivers what many others only promise a smooth shave is fun, but my skin leave them alone. A shaver in which I did not feel to have been ripped off. Sooner or later every "fellow sufferer" on the Panasonic and wonders if another attempt in an endless series of razors finally bring the desired result.
Shaving is be something very individual, like that other users get a completely different result. For my part I can say: am glad that I have given the "little ones" a chance. I love the injury-free wet shaving with an electric razor, feel it as a refreshing, thorough and very gentle on the skin. It may be that it is up to the years of experience of Panasonic in this area, but this shaver delivers precisely from the way I had imagined. A really great shaver at a very fair price (even the wholesale price of 159.- I empfände as appropriate, the Amazon price is a bargain, of course).
I might have to take the same "big brother" with 5 blades, which would not have been any better? At the moment I can not imagine it, because I'm simply happy. The then still significantly greater shaving head does not fit (yet) in my world view, and as I said, the time would fall to me of anything, what he should do better.
