I was on the road 6 days with a tent in the Highlands of Scotland and would like to briefly share my experiences.
Pack size and weight: the weight of the tent is ideal for trekking. After I left the packing away lay the weight of around 2.2 Kg +/-. There are certainly lighter tents, but for the price range before super. The pack size with pocket I felt a bit bulky. In my 65l backpack has fit in well lengthwise, but found it a bit too long. I left the bag away and could thus compress on a decent level.
Processing, and construction items: the processing of the tent is top for the price. No open seams, the RV running smoothly and it even has two ventilation flaps that can rest directly on the outer plane but are situated. The pegs are made of steel and very stable. Although they make up the brunt of the tent, but are essential for a good grip. The first construction lasted about 8 minutes, the next has only 4. I had the tent up and taken down 5 nights in succession, and the most rain. By single rod and throwing on the outer Plane goes very quickly and easily by hand.
Space and feature a 2-person tent that Cardova is definitely too small. In a pinch, it would be possible, but it is still very tight. Alone I had (1.80 meters, 90 kg), more than enough space, even with my 65l backpack lying next to me. The slightly higher form I could easily sit upright in it. The decor is a bit spartan. A Abside missing entirely wqas but only limited the downside. You can fix the problem with a small tarp and trekking poles. When it rains, you had to be something quick when boarding, otherwise the water enters the entrance area. But it's also a trekking tent and some comfort goes there just lost. The inner pocket for items in the tent is unusable because it down depends very loose and does not hold weight. It also lacks the possibility to hang a lamp.
Wind and waterproof: this point was most important to me, because you know the weather in Scotland. Most of I had to wild camp which is a possibility for quick shelter in case of failure of the tent was not given. For the price my main concern was to wake up the middle of nowhere in the water or to see a projection of small tent behind. Of the 6 days it rained 4 days and stormed two days viciously. Not a single drop of water came into the tent. My fellow traveler had a similar cheap tent, but walled. He had enormous problems with water in the tent. By trough shape of the floor it was all there ever safe. The outdoor Plane has everything repelled without impregnation of water that came down. On the last day, the indoor network felt slightly damp, but after 4 days of continuous rain that's forgivable, and you would have been able to dry during the day also. Even the Strumböhen it has kept very good standing. Since the stable herring come into play that kept the tent on the ground. One night stormed it so bad that I have detained me at the tent. But the concern was always unfounded. One should probably. make sure the input is not to put directly into the wind to reduce attack surface.
Conclusion: for the price the Cardova is an amazingly good tent. I had much more expensive alternatives and think it would be this only partially better. As a tent for warmer climes, it is unrivaled, suitable for wet and cold regions in any case, although the wind slightly higher pervades. But I have solved the backpacking as Windbarrikade and long reign no zero temperatures is no problem. Here are all points in summary:
+ Waterproof, windproof even in continuous rain and storm
+ Good workmanship and simple construction
+ Plenty of space for one person and large backpack
+ Very light and at its own folding technique even small packing
+ Unbeatable price
- No Abside (no problem with a little ingenuity)
- Some wind to pass through
- Unusable inside pocket for items
All in all I give the tent 5 stars because it's super useful I think for trekking (except vllt in Svalbard and Greenland;.). One should bear in mind but I use it as 1-man tent review. Common cooking and sleeping is not possible. It made the tour well and will definitely keep. Oh one more thing: the mosquito net (inner tent) has even blocked the small Scottish Midgets who otherwise get through everything. Also it thumbs up.
