The former case my kindle 4 having passed away after many years of service, I was looking to replace a hard case (good protection), thin (it's easier to put it in the pocket). The case that I just got is what I wanted. The kindle fits snugly in a rigid shell with the top flap is held closed by a magnetic closure. The case is slim and pretty (I think it is covered in leather). A good buy.
