When I clamped the Kandle2 to the "naked" Kindle Touch, I was initially a little disappointed with the illumination. The housing of Kandle2 towered about the housing of the Kindle Touch, which resulted in shadows at the top of the display. In addition, the illumination at the bottom of the display was only adequate.
Of course you can change "the seat" of Kandle2 yet, but fixed really optimal is then not.
Much better looks the whole, if I use the Kandle2 with my shell of DURAGADGET. The additional depth the Kandle2 fits perfectly and the illumination improves significantly. Amazing what can make a modified beam angle by a few degrees.
I assume that benefits the Kandle2 from virtually any envelope.
Conclusion: For the "naked" Kindle Touch okay, with shell very well.
