This holiday I had a waterproof camera (mp4) and my iPhone 5S (mov), both 1920x1080 30p,. The import of mp4 files works very quickly and without errors, but the mov clips only be charged up to a shooting time of 5:30 minutes, after which the program crashes. All clips are good, I can arrange the clips also different. The one clip that brings the film length to more than 5:30 minutes, crashes the program.
Reinstallation and uploading an available when Sony updates, clear the cache, etc. do not involve changes, QuickTime for MOV codecs installed is of course (otherwise not a single clip would be imported), my PC with Win7 64 bit, 256GB SSD, RAM16GB, Intel i7 latest generation, Nvidia 750Ti and a Windows Experience Index of 7.7 certainly fast enough. I just spent a Sunday in order to look for a solution. The crash is reproducible, regardless of which mov clips I use it. From Sony Support I have no answer, but am also not very hopeful.
The other little problems could be solved perhaps, I have only the time being no further researched because the above crashes prevent work anyway:
- I can seem to define any shortcut itself, because I constantly used commands "section to the beginning of the clip" and "cut to the end of the clip" require the Movie Studio, pressing two buttons, so I have the hand of the take your mouse. Impractical, Magix enough a button here, what with many clips also saves a lot of time.
- The keyboard shortcut for "jump to the beginning of the clip" or "jump to the end of the clip" there is certainly somewhere, I just did not found it yet.
- My desire is always something changing surface again after a program restart. I have always been newly set up the view again. No big deal, but not really perfect.
If the crashing problem is not resolved, I will work again with Video Deluxe, play the movie at the end uncompressed and in Movie Studio invite to render it in high quality. I hope that at least it works, right now I'm frustrated maximum with this software ..

Edit: I've now all mov files to lossless convert to MP4 using the freeware Super Video Converter. After the import has worked for Movie Studio as you would imagine, say, all highlight and click Import. Takes a little with my 2.5 hours raw material, but works flawlessly. Of course it is annoying to have to convert a really supported format only, but this compromise I can live. Because of this bug, I leave it for the time being but also with three stars. If we find a solution to the problem mov, I raise happy to 5 star ..

Edit 2: The Sony support has not responded, which does not really surprise me. The negative point par excellence is unfortunately also happened to me. The program has no STORYBOARD! The Order of many small snippets of film is used for endless torment without a storyboard. Any other known to me editing program has, and I could not imagine that there can be a program without this essential basic function hitherto. Certainly my mistake not to inform me exactly enough in advance, but Sony got me here cold. The absence of the storyboard and the bad or the same non-existent shortcuts for me important processing steps (see above) are for me, unfortunately, the KO criterion. I make my films again with Magix Video Deluxe, will export there uncompressed and do only the final compression with VideoStudio. A pity that such a good program so mercilessly fails in such small details. I have therefore - quite subjectively - deducted another point.
