With Cover albums it's always a bit tricky, sometimes shooting the artists during recording of cover versions somewhat over the top. In This Is Your Life, this is not so. It adheres largely to the original. If you then deviates from the original, then so that it is fun. As an example, like here the cool version of The Last In Line to be, which has been provided by Tenacious D with a flute solo. Also Rainbow In The Dark, which has been played by a star-studded, sounds quite convincing in this modern version.
Also Halestorms version of Straight Through The Heart sounds pretty bold. A large proportion of this is probably the singer of the band. Highlight of the album for me Starstruck, which is given by Motörhead with Biff Byford on vocals for the best. For Killswitch Engage Holy Diver versemmeln but pretty. Also the medley which Metallica may have contributed be heard.
The record company sold the album containing the indication that the cover versions are previously unreleased, this is not true, because the above-mentioned Holy Diver, Doros Egypt (The Chains Are On) and Adrenaline mobs version of The Mob Rules was already in a phonogram to find!
At the end there Dio with the eponymous song This Is Your Life hearing
