A few years were my absolute favorite band Lifehouse. This was ensured in particular some of the songs of their first album No Name Face, but also later Lifehouse have proven with every album that they have outstanding facilities in terms of songwriting. Some firecrackers, there were always the same goes for the new disc Almeria, for they have their sound retreaded again properly. The fact that there are this time become only 10 songs is not the subject of my criticism. Ever since the last album Smoke and Mirrors, which nevertheless noticeably subsided as a collective work by initially positive impression and in addition to a Oberhammer also had some really weak, tending towards Boygroup-level songs, should it think twice about a Lifehouse album as whole buying. Too big are the differences in level between each song, too, they want to make it all right. This trend continues in "Almeria". The opening track "Gotta Be Tonight" has become very well despite smelling of Bon Jovi song, but with the advance single "Between The Raindrops" already the problems start. Where are the guitars go? Weggemischt Mercilessly I would say. While the dive at # 3 again a little more clearly on, things will be as well as not, on the contrary. Should give a chance to, however, "Moveonday". It sounds extremely bulky, but has what for themselves. Is certainly also true for "Slow Motion", which is reminiscent of many a mid-tempo song by REM. After that, it is quite cuddly-ballad again, just the side that I did not like the last Lifehouse albums. A great counterpart on the other hand is "Right Back Home" that is the expectations more than satisfied that you simply in this album cover. With "Barricade" is the first time a real country song, the interpretive "Cowboy" but come - sorry for the expression - somehow as Slimer and Frauenversteher over, hmmm. A real all-point, however, is the final song "Aftermath", a ballad, but probably the best that have ever been written Lifehouse, which also makes it clear that in principle I am not a hater ballads. Two-time key change, once up and then down again, makes the song completely to the masterpiece. The new Lifehouse- "cake" so offers an excellent ground and covering the filling makes the other hand, often times for stomach pain. Playing tips: "Gotta Be Tonight", "Right Back Home" and especially "Aftermath".
