as ausgrochener Diana Krall fan I've bought the GladRagDoll Deluxe Version. After the first "by zapping" I once put the work with half-closed lips to the side. No idea what Mrs. Krall haunts, but probably the influence of colleagues, producers and the husband Elvis.
I did not listen to it geschaft by the rattling and clattering tracks completely. Maybe I'm not mature enough for it. This is probably as with so many (other) cheeses that one also learns to appreciate with age :-)
Even so highly acclaimed interpretation of 'Lonely Avenue' (track 11 on the deluxe version), which was made according JazzEcho by Ray Charles in 1956 to a Rhythm Blues hit, not just in my heart. In 'Wide River To Cross' (authors: Buddy and Julie Miller) and in 'Garden in the Rain' strikes me as the typical charm of Diana Krall's Singart still closest. Whether producer T Bone Burnett and engineer Mike Piersante have Diana Krall fans really done a favor with this production remains to be seen. I suspect: the time is not yet ripe.
My Conclusion:
If you believe the jazz connoisseurs, is at Glad Rag Doll to a project. Good to know, projects usually have a beginning and an end. This thought makes me feel good, but can be expected that there will be more projects in their musicians career for Diana Krall. BUT: Glad Rag Doll will join productions with me in the cloud, among other, outstanding Diana Krall and wait for the day when I eventually 'downstreamen' will. Until then, I hope soon, the next production ...
