I started with Nike + and iPod nano, but then I for the accuracy relative to fix a GPS clock, a Garmin Forerunner, made a disappointing detour via the TomTom runner and am the owner of a Forerunner 220 including chest belt for some time.
I deliberately chose the 220 because of the smaller Forerunner has built no step detection. Ie: If I am in the winter or in bad weather on the treadmill, the 220 draws it on, the other not.
But Central is the GPS! And that's really fix! He usually has signal in less than 10 seconds and gets lost between houses and in the woods barely. However, it may happen that when you have turned on the auto-stop function (the Forerunner automatically detects when one stands and stops) in dense forest, it interrupts more frequently times. This annoyed me, so I have this feature disabled.
The display can be equipped with the fields that you want. With me are the time, distance and heart rate range. That the display case is colored, but is nice, I do not care.
The display itself I have coated with matt screen protector. Minimizes reflections with me and if you take passes too close to the burning bush, the clock remains intact.
The Forerunner itself is light and comfortable to wear. The same applies to the chest strap that connects to always immediately. (The chest strap can be überigens use simultaneously with a Vivofit, without having to be always truly hands again.)
The operation is quite intuitive and the configuration succeeds it through the software.
I only Macs at home, but can confirm that configuration, updates and synchronization function without problems. In the charge / sync cradle plugged, the rest happens by itself.
The data are stored in GarminConnect. For this you need an account. Anyone who does not want his things and prefer to manage offline, which is the App TrailRunner recommended.
GarminConnect is always improving and offers a free tile order at all what I expect from a Running Watch. Since I also have a Garmin Vivofit, I can both connect to an account and select common overviews. Top!
Very good I think also that various training plans are proposed. Which you can then enter in the GarminConnect calendar (not in my iCal calendars) and shoot the units with the respective intervals to your Forerunner.
Should we then run 7 minutes pulse area 4, the alarms are adjusted accordingly. However, this system is not yet completely free of errors.
If you have a question, help the Garmin support fast and efficient. I'm really grateful drum and have already taken a number of times to complete. So looks service for me.
Seeking criticism, except for some problems in GarminConnect vain.
5 Stars.
