Many expectations for this CD I had not: The recent hits by Keane, especially "Crystal Ball" are too boring, too much direction Coldplay continuously. Then the play button is pressed, and a pop anthem in a class after another has captured me from "Somewhere Only We Know" about "This Is The Last Time", "Bend and Break" to "Can not Stop Now" - loud melancholy anthems that are so beautiful that the endorphins just gushing so. The high-pitched voice of Tom Chaplin is not perfect, but full of warmth and fits perfectly with the harmonious piano arrangements of Tim Rice-Oxley. Despite the melancholy mood is "Hopes and Fears" wonderfully light and ideal, the mood after a stressful day to cheer again. One of the 10 albums that I would take to a deserted island.
