But it also has a flip side, which now annoys me almost every day: The great weakness of the device is the app offer. Here Panasonic is unfortunately not yet arrived in 2015 (at least as regards the Blu-ray recorder, maybe it's for the better TVs. I do not know, do not have a Panasonic). A brand new unit (come out Fall 2014) provides the market in the streaming services only to the Netflix app. No Watch Ever, no Amazon Instant Video, no LOVEFiLM and no max cathedrals. But I would like to use all my streaming subscriptions on a device operated with a remote control. And look at the other apps very poor, only the greats such as Facebook or YouTube, the rest not worth mentioning. According to Panasonic technical support (email from 3.1.2015) will this not change so quickly. One would be to negotiate with the individual providers. Such one reads in the relevant forums in October 2014. Since then, little movement in this area. Probably go again about money, pay for it should the customer.
Thus, Panasonic has not particularly evolved with the new edition of the Blu-ray recorder. The device is more or less at the level of the previous models from the year 2012 with regular improvements in the software, in use and the wireless capabilities. However, I would expect me in an all-round device in the price category that corresponds to the current requirements. Legal streaming providers are meanwhile no longer a vision but already a reality for me and a great complement to traditional television. Here the unit can but unfortunately (still?) Not compete. For this, you have to wait probably for Panasonic for a while. Too bad, should namely be already easy to create even now!
Conclusion: For all those who make from online streaming, Amazon Prime, etc. and App-stuff is not much, a strong buy recommendation. Who does not want to do without it, is (currently still) not happy here.
