After a long research on the net I ordered short hand two systems:
- The Bose Companion 2 Series III for 88, - Euro
- The Samson Media ONE 5a for 149, - Euro
Perhaps an unfair comparison, even more so when one considers the performance values and speaker sizes.
But Bose writes many yes - despite sham - for the music and movie enjoyment miraculous powers to.
I want to write here not long comparative tests, but go directly to my personal impressions.
In exchange I have with both systems different music sample belongs: BigBand, modern classical, pop, musicals, rock to techno.
Make The Bose for their size already really what ago.
You have a beautiful, warm bass and let that one can sink into the music.
Without comparison, I would have probably rated 5 stars.
The sticking point: The middle tone range is nahzu not existend.
The Samson system is much more linear frequency response.
Comparing the systems will only become clear how much the Bose system easily swallowed.
With soft music shows the following to:
Bose: Stressed Bass, little centers, beautiful and clear treble.
Sounds good, but not every music stands on duration of said Bass.
In particular voices and vocal work (in comparison!) Narrow and high.
Some instrument, like a discreet electric guitar going even under times.
Samson: Balanced, beautiful, clear sound for dipping.
Everything is present over the entire tape, from bass to treble, nothing stands out too strongly, rattles or disruptive.
One can say that Samson pair has everything the Bose pair has also, but adds some of what the Bose speakers missing.
If one makes a loud also shows quickly that the Bose-pair but has considerably less Leistungsreservern.
My recommendation clearly: Samson Media ONE 5a.
Is it worth the extra cost: In my opinion, definitely.
Oh, a note yet: I am an occasional techno fan.
For without a subwoofer, both systems are at low volume ne nice thing, possibly the small Bose pair a tick is there even better.
But as soon as it gets a little louder, the Bose pair is no longer with the Samson system.
The bass of Samson pair does already looks very impressive. But if you want to be massaged by Bass, needs a subwoofer or larger woofer.
