PSE 12 provides two important tools to: 1 the "Organizer" to manage their own photos and 2. the "Photo Editor" for editing your pictures. Thus the two most important tasks to be covered. On the "Organizer" I do not go here because I manage my photos themselves, but it seems to be a good tool.
The Photo Editor has a simple interface and can be operated fairly unintuitive also. To use the full diversity of this program, you should already take a good reference book at hand, or alternatively get a good instructional DVD, for example, by Galileo Press (Thomas Kuhn). This is especially important if you want to, "Layer Masks" and certain "tools" to work for example with "levels".
PSE 12 is actually divided into three levels: "Quick" for absolute beginners, "Assistant" provides instructions for a variety of photo editing and "expert" opened almost all the possibilities of manual revision of photos. All three modes are useful because thus something different tasks and target groups are addressed.
What I especially like about 12 PSE, on the one hand a quick photo processing is possible when it comes to basic functions such as contrast, tone correction and noise performance. But there is also a wealth of additional functions in which "intelligent" revisions of photos are possible, for example, selective lightening and darkening of image areas or the color cast removal. Furthermore, many "filters" and offered "effects", where fine adjustments are possible. Different "Selection Tools" lead to very good results, whether the "Lasso" with or without magnetic function or the Polygon tool. I also want to mention the "stamp" and the "Healing", with which you can very quickly and qualitatively good edit photos. The tools for retouching photos are really first choice. But you can also loose 12 times just move with PSE socks off elements within a photograph, clone or eliminate.
There are a number of other functions for PSE 12, which led me to the conclusion that I will in the future only edit my photos with this software. I recommend to anyone who wants to manage his photos and editing, Photoshop Elements 12 highly recommended. It is an excellent Bildbeabeitungsprogramm, I received also significantly cheaper than in regular trade on Amazon. My overall rating is: PSE 12 is super!
