Graphic top, Story flop

After I played Max Payne 1 and 2, I have gefreud me mad at the 3rd part, but even when I saw the trailer and found out about the plot dawned me evil. No Dark New York / New Jersy, not Noire-style, no emotional story. Instead, you are sent to Brazil to work as a bodyguard of a (very stressful) family. The daughter of the family is kidnapped, it saves them the brother is kidnapped, it saves him, the whole family is kidnapped, etc. Max himself is not implicated in the plot, he met only his job, there is no (interesting) intrigue , no conspiracies. With Max Payne all has nothing to do, the game could have just as well 'Franz Müller' or 'Peter Heinrich' hot. Only in a flashback one is faced with the grave of his wife and daughter, this scene is but immediately interrupted by herumgeballere.

The graphics were quite an attraction, but also a bit too exaggerated. There are far too many blur effects. An example: The game focuses on the views of the mouse, so everything should be in focus in this distance, and the rest out of focus (like a real eye stop). However, the focus takes far too long and from a certain distance, it no longer works, is you can not see his enemies reasonable and must on upscaled pixel goals (even with full HD and high settings). Realism is OK, but one should not exaggerate. Finally, focused as a player anyway usually the crosshair in the center of the screen and see the rest only from the corner of his eye, which in turn on player level is blurred anyway.

How many Rockstar title is the PC port again relatively poor. So you have to look at the Felt 15 minute opening before the first time the opportunity has to come into the options and change the resolution. In my case, the aspect ratio was not right and I had a resolution of 800x600 felt, so I can only half read the subtitles. In addition, it runs in some very unperformant Cut off (even with GTX780, i7 and 16GB RAM).

The online compulsion was mentioned more often. This is in my eyes (now) not a big negative point more, but if you already installed an online portal, then the game should at least be able to synchronize the Scores online. If you install the game on another computer you have the game start from scratch (but do not worry, the total surplus is naturally stored, great! (But not found weapons parts)).

Who has not played the predecessors and a blunt linear Shooter examines the Max Payne 3 may look quiet times. For the others: plays just continue through part 2.
