Although it sounds trite and immediately evident to the MacBook Pro models differ in the inner workings of one another. Though they look almost identical generations from the outside and also the unmistakable 13 brothers "with the 15", has been in the inner life always what changed a bit. Up to the moment when I opened my Mac, I've never made me about thoughts. But now it has become important.
The manual describes how to install the adapter that is on a 13 "MacBook Pro the newer generation. As then the inner workings of my Mac spread in front of me and I tried the components with the pictures on the instructions match, I realized ... that are at Some important points not identical.
For example, can be separated as described in my model the battery is not so simple. Very easy to describe in the manual, even dissolve only one cable. In my model there were a couple of special screws on the battery in the way. The screwdriver from the kit does not fit for this special screws unfortunately.
Also solve the other connecting cable I had problems. The (very small) plug was held by a small plastic block in position. This one had to gently push aside and was able to remove the plug. For this you had to know that this was just a small plastic block that you can push to the side, rather than an electronic component that is important for anything and therefore possibly breaks down, however. Luckily, there are Google.
To make it short. The manual is very good if you have the matching MacBook Pro model. For all other models a bit advise and google is announced. What I criticize - and therefore only three stars - is not even that is not a guide to be resolved for each model, that would probably be a little too much of a good thing. But I would have a clear indication desired on the manufacturer's website, that the manual is only available on certain models. I would then namely fingers left it.
And yes, it has all worked out in the end. But I had in between more than once a bad feeling if I now have not yet done anything possibly broken.
