WD Live Media Player Lan (on CRT)

Originally I bought the WD Live subject to be able to give it back again. I could see in advance not provide detailed information on the topic "quality of a tube TV", as these devices to an extinct and secondly because the WD Live probably takes place primarily on devices with HDMI connection using.

Establishments, the WD Live with me with a Western Digital external WDBAAU0015HBK Elements 1.5TB HDD (8.9 cm (3.5 inches), 7200rpm, 8MB cache, USB), with which I am also very pleased so far.

Optical:
- The player is much smaller than I had imagined to me. (About 2 thirds of the size of a 3.5-inch external hard drive)
- The simple design immediately catches the eye, it is particularly noticeable in addition to a black TV / receiver / a hard drive very well (DVD player for example there are more common in silver)
- All connections are (as usual) on the back of the device, only exception is a USB port on the side. I have already read in other recessions that the users perceive as disturbing, but just for the quick connection of a USB stick he's there in my opinion, better off than at the back.

Connection:
- Here I can only speak for the tube TV, but as this is the most complicated method that statements speak well for the other connections.
- The WD Live can be connected using the supplied cords directly to a tube TV. The only requirement: the device requires an RCA connection (red / yellow / white plug). Many devices have such a connection but no, they only have a SCART connection (broad, multi-pole connectors, for example, the receiver, DVD / video player). However, there is an adapter from Scart to Cinch Scart Cinch Adapter gold plated contacts, with which the connection is possible. This adapter is not included. I have the adapter used, which is in the PS2 case, a "better" adapter may provide a better picture.

Image Quality:
- Especially when it comes to the tube TV and to connect with an adapter, certainly the most important point
- The quality has satisfied me completely. This is a very subjective statement to generalize the whole: Who is happy with the quality of a good DVD player, will be satisfied here.
- The better the "terminal" TV, Beamer etc is, the better the image. One should not expect to get quality or the like gets on Röhrenfernser HD just because you used the WD Live.

Menu Control / Operation Charging times:
- Really very intuitive
- The menus are clearly divided
- Particularly important: the WD Live loads very quickly from one to the next menu (folder -> folder -> subfolders)
- Also the individual files are loaded quickly
- You change during a movie the general settings (not the film), it may be the film still on the site to look further, at which one has to leave the clip.
- The issue raised in some recessions, lack of "step function" (mehere minutes of film at a time skip / fast forward very) there! It is therefore possible to quickly zap through a movie, also here invites the WD with a very good speed

I am very pleased with the WD Live. I should / will but as soon as possible for me to buy a better TV to take full advantage of the WD Live can. WD Live TV on tube yes, with newer HD flat screen but certainly better.
