Very positive, I find that the adapter generates little clutter: In the adapter lead two cables, one USB and one power supply from the compact power adapter. Only the so wired adapter must be plugged for SATA simply on the hard drive, and you're done. A short cable between the adapter and Power to the hard disk still is connected PATA, which included also.
I had originally hoped to be able to supply a 3.5 "SATA drive completely through USB3.0 (no extra power supply), but then I read that USB3.0 (so far) and only 900mA so it can deliver 4.5 watts, which for most 3.5 "drives is not enough.
