From i1Display Pro I am very disappointed.
For an inexpensive DELL 2713H initially acquiring a i1Display Pro for hardware calibration was required. For all measurements the correct range "RG-LED" for the Dell was chosen, but also compared to other displays.
ATTENTION! It must at i1Display Pro always the correct range of LCD backlight / display type can be selected (CCFL, white LED, RGB LED, RG-LED, plasma, etc.), otherwise the measurements are completely wrong. That's when spectrophotometers course not required. Colorimeters use filters, while the correction spectrum in order as otherwise not be measured correctly.
The comparison of i1Displaay Pro with a "senior" EyeOne PRO and a current i1 PRO 2 spectrophotometer showed extreme deviations (400K). I have therefore ordered a second i1Display Pro. The deviation between both i1Display Pro is 300K. Compared to the spectrophotometers, this results in a deviation of about 400K to 700K.
Two stars are perhaps the extent appropriate, as in totally lying beside monitors calibration / profiling is possible in about. But the purchase price of the i1Display Pro should perhaps but then put in a better monitor, which already has a good base calibration.
If a high color fidelity for professionals / photo enthusiasts is absolutely necessary, I recommend the purchase of a spectrophotometer i1 PRO 2 Basic (for monitors + projectors) - initially a lot of money, but well worth it - it can be relied upon and any displays, TVs etc. calibrate (eg HCFR software V3.1 +, free - just google). Later you can take the i1 Pro 2 also color printer or scanner profile (additional licenses required or else i1 PRO 2 package).
Just an aside: For the calibratable DELL monitors There are now an updated XRite software "Dell UltraSharp Calibration Solution '1.5.2 for hardware calibration / profiling the corresponding Dell monitors that also supports the spectrophotometers EyeOne PRO and i1 PRO 2 ( see Dell Monitor Forum).
I can not recommend the i1 Display Pro for accurate calibration / profiling.
