After the death of my beloved and old stone Therm-a-Rest mattress I looked around for a replacement a year ago. The new models of Tar are for me now outside any affordability. Especially the more comfortable because wider and thicker models can pay the Americans expensive. Mir had prices beyond the hundred euro mark clearly too much, so I looked around for affordable alternatives. I found what I was at one of the major motorcycle accessories shops. There was the Grand Canyon camping mats for acceptable price.

After I had convinced myself in the store by the quality and design of the self-inflating sleeping pads that Cruise offered here was bought. With a width of 65cm and 5cm thickness it is one of the more comfortable models. There are both thinner how to get thicker specimens of Grand Canyon mats with 3 and 7.5 cm. I prefer the latter, and thus lie on the GC quite well. For the use I made me a burlap sack I slide over the mat. This significantly improves the air. Especially in the summer you sweat but very on the plastic material.

My conclusion: The Grand Canyon is a good alternative to the high-priced models of the established manufacturers.
