+ Lots of good experiences in the circle regarding establishment, wireless performance and stability
+ NAS functionality
Your job as a router, the Fritzbox meet properly, the device is very simple and intuitive. All settings are explained clearly and in concise web interface is easy to find. Even the functions leaves no wish unfulfilled. The router functionality is handled by me 5/5 stars
Besides pure router functionality were the advertised NAS features for me are important. These are unfortunately much more difficult to set up and at times very slow and unstable. I have a 1TB hard drive connected via USB, on the mainly are video files. This would make the center on all devices (tablet, laptop, desktop) accessible, preferably via network share.
The following problems have occurred:
- The indexing of existing files repeatedly broke down, so I had to re-connect the disk several times before all of the files were accessible
- Access to the network share has not been possible for me. Although I managed to set up properly, however, the credentials were not accepted (I've set up a separate user with the correct rights configuration.
- Access via FTP works, is at times but relatively fragile. Especially for complex operations (delete / copy many files), the compound often interrupted (both in Windows Explorer as well as FileZilla)
- The delivering files using the media server is at times very slow, even with small files. The viewing a photo on my tray took nearly 30 seconds despite a full reception.
Conclusion:
While the object is achieved as a router easily and exemplary, the NAS functionality is improved. I expected no full-fledged NAS solution based on the price, but even my rather small claims were not completely full-bodied but advertised erfüllt.Da this function, I take off for the defects 2 stars.
