The book covers a wide range of issues: market forms, theories of the company, foreign trade, economic policy, happiness ... The chapters are always quite short and give examples and tasks. Usually there is also an extended essay, z. B. the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU.
The text is easy to read and is broken up by newspaper clippings, diagrams, tables and some graphs. The graphics are usually quite large and colorful printed so that students find the information easily. The assessment of graphs and statistics is also taken into account, so you do not "lie with statistics" can. At the beginning of each chapter is a caricature.

I liked the book well. It does not contain complete derivation of the Keynesian system, but works with the appropriate formulas and the AS / AD model that we know from textbooks for students. The examples mostly relate to the environment of the target group (namely the UK) and as such. B. allow the comparison of wages in various industries. The newspaper articles are good. So the Financial Times in 2005 reported that among Spanish young people have a lot of no reasonable training and temporary employment is extremely widespread. Since the EU would have to know that the next economic downturn will bring mass unemployment with itself ... That seems to have been displaced because the Spanish statistics back then had such a favorable trend.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants an introduction to economics at hand current issues.
