Wonderful, sensitive music, times Country-flavored, sometimes rock-'n-roll-ig, sometimes ballad-like, but always with the utmost expressiveness. This excel not only Mary-Chapin Carpenter's warm alto voice, but also the well-chosen instrumentation, including here the pianist may be mentioned (Matt Rollings, John Carroll, John Jarvis) who for by imposing solos, Fill-in's and accompaniment in an ensemble outstanding overall design contribute. Mary-Chapin Carpenter manages to leave with this powerful CD a lasting positive impression, because they obviously the songs (most of which originate from itself) not only devotedly interpreted, but downright lives and breathes. Are there single out outstanding pieces? I do not think - the album thrives on its diversity, its balance of fast and worn pieces, its perfect unity of soloist and instrumentation and of an excellent performance from MCC. Bravo! Always enjoy again! Kurt-André Lion
