... The next day, unfortunately, the same "game".
Coincidentally this model, Selfsat H21D2 was for 2 participants, but with replaceable LNB module and Fensterdurchführung (the holder, in addition to rods, - wall mounting) here just available cheap.
So this was purchased and installed in the same place where previously even hung the old flat SAT antenna. Well, I was just as much that the components on the back of "backward compatible" are, so I had to unscrew only the fixing of H30D4 hereunder the LNB module of H21D2. The old "bowl" thus did not need to be completely removed. So far so good, the 2x. ^^
Well went at once nothing more, the new flat antenna located at the position of the old no satellite / transmitter. As with a borrowed, digital satellite finder (I have already said in my other review of "old" Bowl - the compass, which accompanies the H30D4, nonsense is) then it turned out, the trees towards Astra 19, 2 are here in recent years, continued to grow. So that was the reason they now blocked the signal ...
... So antenna implemented, repositioned and behold, receiving as before (even with the advance, supposedly broken). But since I now once the Selfsat H21D2 had acquired as a "reserve", I wanted to test the same course extensively, rather than again Selfsat H30D4 to try.
According to the manufacturer's with her even the reception yield stronger than the later model of the product family. Disadvantage, it is slightly larger dimensions. However, it has for a replaceable at any time and not permanently mounted LNB.
Well, what can I say? It is true ! Where previously from time to time, - eg when extreme rainfall the Selfsat H30D4 failed (supposedly they should from a performance point have the quality of a classic 60 cm round dish with feed arm, in truth, it behaves rather so that it just the one with 35 - can fulfill 45 cm), making the Selfsat further H21D4 unmoved. Since the change there was never again dropped frames. Can of course also with the new position after the conversion are related, but I estimated times, the processing is here have been even better.
The only thing Me H21D2 not really liked in direct comparison to H30D4 is that so perfect not just their front - is planned. So it is obvious that better handle inside, from the outside but the later model ... which brings me to the reason for my new review here.
Its surface is less suitable for sticking with film, so 1 point deduction. However, I had an idea. ^^
I said years ago when H30D4, - and have been to several times written to you (as I have done it) can do without the expensive adhesive films for "camouflage" quiet. Normal "08/15" adhesive film fulfills exactly the same purpose and is significantly cheaper. What also pays even more so, they should have some variety in the subject and want to share.
Now comes the kicker: I used at the time H21D2 a Wall Decal adhesive film, much thicker than simple roles, properly stable, but also robust. The reception performance is so good, that not deteriorated 1% there!
Become moreover reinstellen pictures in the next few days here. Especially well, because they can create a floral motif, such as at the expensive adhesive films which specialized vendors on the way to the bargain price somewhere acquire. My cost me exactly 1 Euro in the dime store. Just this, "normal" adhesive films are usually less than 1 mm thick, the Wall Decal film was at least 1 to 1.5 cm ... and it works perfectly!
Conclusion: this Selfsat flat antennas are (and remain) an ideal solution, especially for people who are forced to leave their satellite dish as much as possible - purely visual - to camouflage and meisst have very little space, such as on the balcony or . the porch / terrace. The "round mirror" (unfortunately the feature every classic dish) is eliminated and as a forward projecting feed arm and hardly anyone can even detect stuck. However, the reception is not as bad weather - Reserve technically considered 100% safe as a conventional antenna.
The only currently available which I would recommend even more at the moment would be disguised in a box the CubSat, a round 70 cm mirror feed arm and interchangeable LNB's. The can also be painted or glued. However, again more expensive, so approximately from 230 upwards. Therefore, SAT flat antennas are always a good alternative.
