"Dark Intervals" (58 min.) Is a live piano recording of Tokyo of 1987. This concert is expected to be a turning point in the piano work of Keith Jarrett represent and initiates the phase of concerts (Paris / Vienna / La Scala), which by itself a stern, introverted and more classic-looking tone distinguished. The previous concerts in Bremen, Lausanne, Cologne and Bregenz sounded contrast rather jazzy easy and extroverted. The piano is sometimes very strict, almost threatening, therefore, to be subsequently replaced again by light, poetic, almost hymn-like pieces. Unlike other concerts is "Dark Intervals" from eight shorter pieces. Overall, the music is particularly suited to more thoughtful moments. The gray cover with the image of clouds in the slightly shimmering blue sky meets exactly the mood.
