Motivation for the acquisition of the Creative Sound Blaster with SBX was as follows:

With my onboard sound card though was forwarded and played 5.1 via the optical output to my AVR (Onkyo TX-NR 626) with Dolby Digital movies, but in games has always been only 2.0 transfer.

With the new external Sound Blaster 5.1 sound is finally output as a signal and arrives at the AVR. Important for this is probably the "Dolby Digital Live". Now I am very satisfied.

Installation was self-explanatory with the enclosed CD.

No cracking, no noise, absolute recommendation on my part.
