*** What you should know to ThruNite Ti3 ==>
1) The torch is made of black anodized aluminum, making it fairly indestructible. Only the black anodizing could wear in places over time by a possible rubbing on a key chain, which I find bad. In a test in CPF forum revealed even after an hour in a water depth of around 30 centimeters, no water leakage.
2) The company ThruNite is a well known and manufacturer of high quality LED flashlights, they buy here so far a branded product.
3) For a powered with AAA batteries flashlight Ti3 is unusually bright in my opinion. If you have no current LED flashlights, then they will be taken completely by surprise. So bright were early only the very thick flashlights, if at all. The manufacturer shall specify the brightness here with amazing 120 lumens. This is in my opinion also pointed quite well. If you enter "ThruNite Ti3 CPF" in Google, then they come to an English report, which attests to the lamp even 150 lumens with just under 30 minutes running time with one AAA battery!
4) The ThruNite Ti3 has several brightness levels, which are switched via a short, light up and turn off the lamp head. So the lamp is also switched on and off, up front or just screw it. A switch are nowhere on this lamp. A potentially confusing property if they had never dealt with such a technique. After recently trying out but the operation is child's play quite quickly.
5) You will notice on the ThruNite Ti3 that the first brightness level very weak lights, indicated with 0.04 lumens for maximum 115 hours of operation. This is called the "Firefly" mode. This is not a technical error or nonsense, but a luminous intensity for application areas where minimal light is sufficient or even a must. For example, as a night light or when hunting. Also very useful if you need some light at night, but want to disturb anyone in his sleep. Few flashlights in this price range and size have such a feature!
6) The lamp is currently here in the cool white versions and available in neutral white. This means the hue of the light generated by the LED. The cold white LED producing the typical, very white LED light which everyone knows. The neutral white light, however, has more yellow components, similar to normal daylight. Since cold white light to the eye bright and "normal" is displayed, it enjoys great popularity among the population and many manufacturers offer therefore no lamps Neutal white LED. The insider knows, however, that the neutral white LEDs due to their more natural light have a better color rendering. This finding is made now already in the living room by illuminating because the white light effect colors mostly unrealistic and pale.
* My verdict: The ThruNite Ti3 is a fascinating small LED flashlight. Earlier there were similar LED lamps, but the brightness of this lamp is impressive. Even the presence of a dark firefly brightness level shows that this is a high quality product. Combined with the robust externals and a very attractive price, the Ti3 my opinion currently the first choice if you are looking for a keychain lamp. 5 stars for it.
*** Further information ==>
- On the product photo, a tie clip is shown, which however was not there with my delivery. Either lacked the part or it may not even included. The clip was however not needed by me, because I use the flashlight on my key ring. Included was a kind of chain in fairly simple design, unusable for me.
- After inserting the battery (or battery) and the screwing of the thread remains the light of seemingly. However, if you look closely you will notice a slight glow of LED, this lamp starts in darkest mode. With a very short and easy on-again spinnig turn in the next lighter mode. To turn the lamp is easily screwed until the light goes out.
- The ThruNite Ti3 is also a good idea as a gift !!! :-)
- The competitor to ThruNite Ti3 is, in my view, the Fenix E01. She is the keychain classics and moves in the same price range below 20 euros. The E01 is also powered by a AAA battery, is not as bright as the Ti3, but in my view still indestructible when it comes to longevity. After all, the Fenix has no front glass on the reflector and consists of a little thicker aluminum.
- Keep in mind the use of AAA batteries that these cells run out very quickly and then the indestructible lamp is still defective. Ideally, you should use AAA NiMH batteries, for example, Sanyo Eneloop. However, this is a general problem with the use of standard AAA batteries.
*** When the lamp time is not (more) work ==>
- Try the thorough cleaning of the thread with a clean dry cloth, then (only) very lightly grease again as needed thereafter.
