I bought 'The Passage' just by reading the first lines of the book, and just browsing the summary. What to say? There are ten books in this book, ten different narrative styles, we fear for the characters, it is feared to turn the page, it is terribly human, there is a firm believer. I do not want to spoil the surprise for future readers, close your eyes, buy it, and enter the dance - to give more details, even if the book is classified in the stories of "vampires", it is not truly the case. Military experience from prisoners sentenced to death skids and turns these guinea pigs monstrosities that are assimilated by the populations of vampires, but just by analogy. The reality is more complex. I have read the Anne Rice, Bram Stoker, and Matheson "The survivor", but it has nothing to do here, no crucifixes and garlic ... In the middle of the book, change of universe, but not history, it's a little slower, but for mounting crescendo towards the conclusion of the story, which does not end all at the very end, we hope very strongly suite the last sentence is a mystery, and a slap in the face. In short, a long and hard delicious reading, panting and slow, a universe unto itself.
I just learned that 2 suites are planned, * The Twelve (16 May 2012, I pre-ordered) and * The City of Mirrors (2014), I can already can not wait!
