For better comfort I was looking strap with the following characteristics:
+ Safe camera mounting
+ Good cushioning
+ Handiness
+ Processing
+ Price
I searched and found, of course, products of SunSniper and Hama.
I've also tried the SunSniper on a Canon 7D.
Good, but grossly overpriced for my idea.
The belt of Hama is similar in structure and function very product of the OP / Tech,
However, again around a third cheaper.
Now the subjective evaluation of the required points:
+ Safe camera mounting
It is conveniently possible to attach the camera with two loops. This is an important criterion for me.
The 1/4 "thread to use as a single point of contact with a bolt that is not purely loaded on train, no longer has anything to do with machine elements / Engineering. This is a good solution here because the intended holder of the camera are used. Next When the battery door not covered by a removable disk such as the Hama. Of the expected forces and moments, there should be no problems for the plastic clips. Since identical to Rucksaäcken must hold more.
A film on the manufacturing side suggests various possibilities of the camera attachment.
A very modular system that can be beautiful at any time to adjust to the needs of the user!
+ Padding
It is well and does not slip. The curved profile is pleasant. There is no plastic smell.
+ Handiness
The various clips of the belt can be adjusted individually.
The camera can be grasped easily and quickly and easily.
At first I thought the stopper of Hama might be better, I have to press a switch but do not feel like every time. The system works very well here.
+ Processing
The finish is clean. The seams are well, knew no sharp and target measures have been complied with. Fully meets the expectations.
+ Price
1/3 and less competitive without words ......
Conclusion: strong buy recommendation for the alternative product to existing market sizes
Inexpensive is not always bad. This belt is cheap and not cheap!
Addendum of 19/03/2013:
After three weeks of continuous extreme conditions in China with temperatures from -10 to +30 degrees and humidity of 15% to 95%
Dust, water and smog and of course about 5000 images, the conclusion: Ingeniously holds, stays dry, does not wear out and work!
Just perfect!
