It costs anyway not the world, but it makes a world of difference in the sound quality if you record the sound via Micro Video Camera (from some several meters away, including all noise!), Or if the mic is placed directly at the speaker. The zoom function of micro video cameras come as no zoom remotely.
I recently made a demo video with more than one person interviews - wow. The sound from the camcorder was hard to use, the crystal clear from the lavalier microphone! And the handling was problem-free.
A tip: If you, like me, do not record the sound on your camcorder, but on an external recording device (better safe than sorry ... I use a Zoom recorder) - then you imitate the famous "film-from-flap "with a hand-clapping - which greatly facilitates the synchronization of the external sound with the speaker video: you must then bring in cutting only the Tonausschlag in coverage. This is precisely a split second.
The extremely long cable has proven itself - it can always be so similar under jackets embarrassed, that it is not in the picture. The external power supply is also a plus. The on / off switch does not forget.
Take a headphone makes sense - so you can check briefly that the sound arrives, and the batteries are working.
As I said, full recommendation if you take more speaking people!
I hope these comments will help you with your decision.

PS It has now been found, the sound of the external recording device that bsd for longer recordings (> 10 min) - in my case the Zooom recorder - but is slightly but noticeably increasing asynchronously.. In future, I may also have to connect the lavalier microphone directly to the cam. The sound of Vidoecam Micro's would in any case unacceptable, and it saves a lot of time when cutting, the better tone to the same on the video recording to have!
