This often feels in his novels, and it is a style which one attaches easily. The usual richness of the vocabulary used here leaves his place at the crudeness of the theme, the characters and their words. Nothomb denounces, but does not itself being a spectator is removed that right? It's silly, but it's fun, it is precisely what is forbidden to her character ... All his appeals to the public invariably result opposite reactions to those expected. One can dream.
