Taken with the idea of a smaller corpse direct lite "DSLR" you always and everywhere you entrains the SLR at home can be due to the size my interest was ever awakened to a system camera.
The idea: More love to take pictures, less complexity, just enjoy more and just take with you everywhere. Away from the technology, again more towards the picture.
My Equipment date:
- Sony Alpha 500 with a variety of Minolta lenses, Metz flash and divcersem other standard accessories.
- Canon S95 forever at it
I have previously always been paid to a balanced price / performance ratio. Much optical quality for the euro. And I went with the "old" Minolta lenses actually getting quite good. the AF was now usually not the best and not nearly as fast as for example in the E-LP7 but beautiful pictures there was always still a narrow Taler.
What has me rather annoyed was the increasingly large pocket on the Krämpel I always had to lug. Therefore, I have always had the S95 on holiday while the last 3 years. The DSLR came only with when I left only because of the photo, which was less and less the case.
But now the E-LP7 ...
What was there for competitors that I took with the selection and what were the reasons why I preferred the e-LP7?
Olympus E-LP5 / 6 => Not-quality Body. No wireless. No dial. Monitor not so far foldable.
Olympus E-M10 => same image quality as the E-LP7, but with optical viewfinder, built-in flash and 2. Dial. The 3 mentioned I need nich (more) or would they use so little that I have saved about 100 EUR prefer investing in others and the slight reduction in size also like to take
Sony Alpha 6000 => expensive. Less lens selection. Stability only in the lenses. No built-in spirit level. JPEG engine to be better at Olympus
These are in brief the candidates that I've looked at more closely as I wish. Nikon I have found, for example, nothing really suitable for me.
Saw pros and cons of e-LP7 for me personally and also in comparison to my previous features:
PRO:
+ Very pleasant shutter sound. It may be beside the point for some, but I find it to be very pleasant. Sony has not so it, at least sounded my Alpha 500 and the Alpha 6000 not nice also liked not (too intrusive)
+ Very many and also meaningful settings. Many complain the menus and dozens setting, I love them. When I read the "hidden" menus have found and saw the setting options contained therein, my heart went on. :) You can customize everything as you like. Example: adjust ISO ceiling jeh by mode. Resolution and quality jeh much more adapt at will for 4 presets.
+ Great optical performance with KIT lens. A bit Baff I was already as the small sensor APS-C of my Alpha has struck 500. So I imagine at least after the first tests that this begins much earlier to rustle.
+ Many modes and presets can be selected.
NEUTRAL:
o optics is a matter of taste. I like the retro look now not so much. I find the Alphas from optical ago nice.
o But not as compact as I have liked first. Ansich I wanted the first pancake lens have, decided, due to the information on the imaging performance and the electronic adjustment against. In addition, this diet about 100 EUR more
o No dust and splash protection.
NEGATIVE:
- Without knowing the hidden menus you give away a lot of goodies, such as in the Super Fine mode.
- For beginners probably a hurdle to learn due to the many menus full functionality.
If someone like me wants to get away from developing the RAW files and a camera with powerful images and strong JPEG engine looks likely to go wrong with the part no.
By the way ... Yes, I use now also the automatic mode from time to time and makes really useful pictures. Not always and everywhere, but he certainly has his permission.
