Fact: Old Dect phones are supported in their functions only on CAP level (this also applies to Siemens Gigaset hand parts). This is not surprising, but is specially noted by the manufacturer and provided a list of 100% compatible devices available to the customer.
I run the unit behind my Easybox 904 xDSL without a DMZ to have set up. I am so far always been accessible and have not had problems with calling out.
One more thing to update history: It is on the Gigaset Wiki with firmware 42,196 appear pointed out as the update path is adapted. Once adjusted in the web interface, the auto updates run without problems! My device I first updated to the latest firmware before I even went to the setting. Currently V42.207 running on my box with no apparent difficulty.
On the subject of authentication: Supported the device already ALWAYS (at least with username / password) and SIP / TLS are supported. In the latter case the party offering this support otherwise it does not work, but is also not the fault of the box.
The IP address to retain the equipment even after "x" reboots only the firmware update of the automatic IP reference is enabled. I have just a static DHCP setup to N510IP, finished.
LDAP I have not tested (at 3 handpieces and 3 phone numbers with me unnecessarily), the CSV Import via the web interface of N510IP hung already. Even my very old Siemens Gigaset S1 (FW: 02.042.00) has received all the phone book entries correctly, as the two C430H handsets (FW: 107.033.01).
All this was already the V42.200 and with the current V42.207 also. Sorry forgot to write many reviewers occur which mistakes and unfortunately do not describe its also used hardware / software. When the Gigaset like support is difficult to solve problems provide that users should show at least own commitment ...
Support Oh, my C430H (Consumer Product of Gigaset) as far as I could see all the functions * N510IP (MWI, call logs, Gigaset.net, network mailbox, klickTel reverse search, line selection for incoming and outgoing calls, call waiting ...).
Greeting
Martin
* All the functions that I use, PoE, LDAP and SIP / TLS are NOT included here
