The sound quality is tremendously good. Legal neutral, yet come bass at FLAC / WAV files (CD quality) through clearly. No comparison to my Sennheiser which was more bassy and has brought me before a tinnitus if it was too loud.
Then I hear primarily classic soundtracks, and the like, to me the balance was very important and that expectation has the headphones completely fulfilled. I had additionally ordered a pair of headphones from Sony, who had just performed better in the tests, but was much more expensive - but for the sound of comparison, he went back and the Beyerdynamic is now more than half a year, my primary Ohrenschmeichler.
The velvet ear shells encloses my ears well and is conveniently located on (perhaps it would be better if the form would rather be that of Sennheiser, the better covers the natural shape of the ears -. Oval, not round like this This is a small smear, but bearable)
What I also found very good, is that there is only one cable and not the typical two (one on each side) - which brings a plus when tangling. The cable also acts tough and has a strain relief (which was not on my Sennheiser and therefore avulsion - hence early retirement).
Most parts of the construct are made of aluminum, which is very high quality and radiates corresponding durability.
The only thing I find not so satisfactory, is the ironing - the cushion in the bow is pretty hard and bother after a few hours at the crown (Note: I have a rather large head and therefore this is a rather narrow thing).
Conclusion: a high end headphones for more than fair price with excellent finishing and only minor weaknesses, but also no real blunders. For the price a strong buy recommendation.
