A few hints for mounting on Weber Q1000 1200

I have even a Weber Q1000 and have to buy this pressure reducer in order to use larger propane can. The pressure reducing valve works this wonderful, a more expensive one does not need my opinion. The length of the hose is perfect with 1.5m and neither too short (as the original hose) nor too long (that it disturbs).

Nevertheless, the conversion was much more difficult than expected. However, this was not due to this pressure reducer, but the fact that the original tube has been tightened enormously at the control valve from the factory and had barely unscrew. As I found out later, it is probably in the Q series quite often. One should therefore proceed as follows:

- For the fitting of the tubes a 17mm spanners needed.
- Unscrewing is clockwise (with gas available), which is exactly opposite to normal set screw caps.
- In order to unscrew the original hose from the control valve to hold near the fitting this with a 13mm spanner. Alternatively, one can use a pipe wrench with a piece of cloth and hold the entire valve.
- If you notice while trying with little use of force that the screw is seated rather firmly, then should no longer try next but first unscrew the control valve directly from the Weber grill you. This is easier than it seems at first glance, by unscrewing two smaller Phillips screws.
- After that you can again by the above method to try to unscrew the hose. It apparently is not uncommon that the hose is firmly seated so that this does not help, but rather only the valve by holding the tool some Katsche abbekommt. So it was with me. In this case, only that helps gripping the valve in a massive possible workbench. So we went without any problems with me.
Who are not workbench at home and therefore for example have to a workshop, which should necessarily consider this potential problem in advance, before it then does not change the barbecue hose and propane tank can not connect.
