Making calls, send texts, use WhatsApp, check emails, check the location on the walking tour by GPS and offline maps from OpenStreetMap (on SD card), all of which can the Xcover 2 fine. The flashlight is useful and the camera takes good enough pictures to go fast times to document something. For more demanding pictures I take with my rather then X10.
The buttons are well placed and can also operate just fine. The case makes a stable impression, but is a bit too slick for my taste. Here creates a TPU Cases easy remedy and with their roughened side surface is the Xcover2 securely in your hand. The buttons I have cut out of the shell, so that let the side buttons continue to operate easy. Because the tastes are sure different.
The display is sufficiently bright normally at 75-80 per cent, in the blazing sun but it is difficult to read even with 100 percent. That should not be any different with other devices of this kind.
The outdoor qualities I have tried only in connection with rain, sweat, or dust. No problem as long as the covers keep still. The cover for the charging cable will be handled with care. Let's see how long it goes well. Here Samsung should think about a more robust coverage.
Whether the display would hold a fall? I guess in a precision landing on the glass would be back even when Xcover2 !? This prevents the bead then hopefully my TPU Case.
The restriction of the internal memory was known to me and I thought, as smartphone beginners and without the use of games and other bells and whistles that will be enough. But no, when you try to install an offline navigation app, I quickly got to know the limits of this equipment. Not enough space to install the card.
The use of the SD card is the storage of photos, music, videos and thankfully the maps, reserved.
Use the Navi on Google works with online maps, but requires a use of mobile data, which there is not in vain.
Allen, looking for a comfortable phone, so I can recommend the Xcover2.
But who wants to use the opportunities of a modern smartphone, the will of the much too small internal memory that is not actually relieved of the SD memory card, quickly disappoint !!
I hope still that with the update to Android 4.2, support the memory card will be extended, but since most users Xcover2 swallow this toad implied, will probably only need to make more memory available to Samsung while Xcover3: _ (
Results in the sum, also to ease pressure on the manufacturers to increase slightly; _), only 2 stars.
