I searched for my mother (88 years) an easy to use satellite receivers, as their age his mind had given up. He must not have much, just be easy to operate. My first thought was: Technisat. They were to me as easy to use and well-known of good Quality. Therefore I ordered the entry level digital S2e for 50 Euro. When the arrived, total disappointment! No HDMI output (OK, my fault, I should have read better. But who will pay for itself so that nowadays still digital receiver be made only with analog output? Moreover by a reputable company such as Technisat!). That alone would not have been so bad, but on the Technisat Scart caused an ugly ground loop on your Panasonic LCD TV. And the EPG writing was difficult to read, despite high-quality Vivanco scart cable, because huge shadow. So back and alternatively ordered this Xoro here, due to the positive reviews.
As the Xoro came, connected, and now total enthusiasm! As easy to use as Technisat, thanks to HDMI excellentes image, EPG and equal representation even clearer. For less money even HD channels and movies from USB flash drive takes place. Recording I have not tested, but will probably also work. Those looking for an inexpensive receiver makes an absolute bargain here. (Says one of the spoils of a VU + Ultimo is!)
