For shelf itself: as in other reviews already mentioned, it makes the most sense to set up the shelf with the incline towards the wall side, so can any shoe type draufstellen without falling down them.
The space at each level is! Not at all! the same size, the image shown here is misleading. Perhaps the devil is in the detail (by the slightly different version that was included), but I would like to describe my experience. Under the shelf (floor installation site), practically under the first level of the shelf, already fit higher shoes when the shelf with sloping incline to the wall even sets up ankle boots. On the top level logically fits any shoe height. The intermediate level of a shelf can withstand about ankle-high shoes.
However you put two racks together, thus above the other (see picture above), fit in the uppermost level of a shelf (ie in the "mating level," top level of the bottom shelf) very flat shoes pure. With me fit boots (neudeutsch "sneaker") just pure, but already my indoor sports shoe is too high.
The durability on the other hand is good, even after 6-7 years of use of the first shoe rack that is still reasonable because, of course, show up at the one point or another minimal traces of rust, but are barely noticeable (with shoe assembly fortiori) and the shelf yet far from being rendered unusable.
For the offered price is a bit too expensive, including shipping. If you can wait (fits time unfortunately rare): every now and then there's this "Veriante" also in various discount stores for just under 6 euros on offer. If you get really rack with cross brace, I think 14-15 euros including shipping nor appropriate.
