Unfortunately, the release for profitable holiday shopping season seems to be a wrong decision. The game looks unfinished and need revision.
The graphics are certainly a matter of taste, overall the design I personally do not particularly like. Especially with Hercules, I found the design but arg exaggerated. Characters such as the Pan and some bosses made on me, however, a good impression. The islands themselves are very mixed in terms of graphics. The island home of the protagonist appears idyllic and quite varied. The wilderness and the village of the island of Saria I liked and I stayed there like on.
The other islands appeared to me, however carelessly designed with boring buildings and ugly textures provided. Especially with the last areas that you have to go through in the game outweighs monotony giftgrün namely literally in color. Furthermore, the animations hakeln in cutscenes and also the textures load regularly. By installing on the hard drive but this is not too distracting, still perceptible.
The soundtrack to the game I liked most and looked very fit. The voice on the other hand failed, the speakers are unmotivated, their phrases speak inappropriately and senseless acts breaks read what has been said. Only the Speaker of Pan made a credible impression on me.
The sound quality worsens the impression then many times, the spoken word acts dull and often incomprehensible quiet (despite settings in the options menu) and most of the characters seem to lisp. Although I can not judge whether this is located on the sound quality or the speakers itself, but a muscle-bound king who constantly whisper in his threats and oaths, affects me far too often unintentionally comic.
The English language edition, which I used a trial basis on the XBOX own settings, though seemed more motivated, but also here the actual sound quality is in comparison to other games very poor.
The game itself seemed more an action adventure than an RPG to be. Most reminds me of the game "King's Quest VIII - Mask of Eternity". The players led by Jason labyrinthine designed locations on different islands and meets regularly to people, which can be addressed. Unmotivated spokesman of always looks the same NPCs describe a so the little problems, in which the player can then help mostly where he betakes become a drawn on the map point. The card can only be seen by the way the options menu, which no ads in the game to see for yourself. Nevertheless, this interferes with the gameplay by a permanent switch to the menu.
In most areas of Jason and two selectable computer controlled allies by numerous opponents are attacked. These are fought in real time, which greatly reminded me of "God of War", even though the combat system never reaches the complexity of the game.
The animations in the fight repeated constantly, but it will certainly hold some happy. In addition, Jason and his colleagues do not just squeamish to deal with their enemies and so much polygon blood can be seen on the screen when Jason impales his opponents, cut and heads. For various swords, mace and spears him are available, of which one copy is selected, while you can choose between the three types of weapons freely in combat. An interesting detail is that inflicted wounds can be seen at the opponents.
The story holds together the events, but offers no real surprises. So I, for my part, the events followed quite emotionless and rather bored and the main character desired neither a success nor failure of his mission. It seemed to me simply do not care.
In addition, the story suffers, in my view, from the same problem as "Lord of the Rings - The Third Age". Student of history, in this case the Greek mythology, numerous errors and inconsistencies are found, people without this knowledge are but only a few "acquaintances" recognize and can correctly assign.
I strongly advise against a purchase at full price for this unfinished product, it is neither particularly good nor long. I myself have completed all sidequests found and not even 20 hours are required until the loveless guy flickered across the screen. Nevertheless, the combat system is entertaining and fun the game idea at least unspent.
