I had been looking forward to the camera, and their Living Pictures and was quite impressed even out of the box of her appearance.
She looks like a small tube, but not round, but with an edge, and makes a high quality impression.
Included are a wrist strap, a cleaning cloth, a magnetic lens cover, a short manual (detailed can be found on the Lytro website, only in English!) And a USB cable, which serves both for charging and for data exchange. Unfortunately, the device with this delivery can not be connected directly to the mains, the matching quick charger, there are nachzukaufen.
A full charge on the PC via USB takes forever felt the way, that no fewer than 8 hours for 100%!
The battery is installed and can not be replaced.
The camera itself is easy to use: turn on and off the top and back by brushing over the surface of the casing, below the UBS port.
The really special camera is its ability to bring close to conditions, without having to make prior settings. The recordings can then be edited in retrospect to the existing touch screen, so-called refocusing, which means the focus point to be determined retrospectively and possibly move. But this, the display of my eyes is definitely too small and the color representation spurious, blurred and grieselig.
The processing of the images on the PC is only possible if the PC has firstly at least Win7 (64-bit), on the other hand, the specially downloaded standing Lytro software has been installed. Owner of a Mac or various other Apple products are all options for the camera, such as parts of the images on social networks, a clear advantage in exploiting.
So after all the obstacles that stood in the path taken, and the photos were to finally look at the computer screen, joined me bitter disillusionment: Countless images from various perspectives in different lighting conditions and indeed for my taste only few usable, one of which s. customer images.
Playing the kind of focus and blur in my opinion, requires practice, patience and confrontation with a totally different bearing technology. Nevertheless, the color reproduction does not correspond to reality, and the quality of the photos generally leaves to be desired for my taste left. Due to a visual defect me also praised the 3D effect remains hidden.
The Lytro light field camera perhaps heralding a new era in digital photography, designed for that special moment and a chosen audience, however, I lack the necessary conditions and apparently the talent for a truly optimal use.
