Whisper Not - Live In Paris 1999 (CD)

Customer Review

One of the best double album of the trio, recorded live in Paris, there are more than 10 years!
The leader is in great shape, the pieces are all excellent and there are some rarely recorded by the master standards that, unlike some albums, going to the point and do not wander into long improvisations often disconcerting.
My favorite pieces in CD1: "Whisper Not" Benny GOLSON (one of my favorite jazz tunes), "Chelsea Bridge" Billy STRAYHORN for its surprisingly serene interpretation, the classic "Round Midnight" and a stunning version of " Sandu "Clifford Brown.
For CD2: alongside the classic "What is this thing called love" of Cole Porter, a nice dynamic version of "Design" George SHEARING, an excellent "All my tomorrows," a beautiful "Prelude to a kiss" Duke Ellington and interpretation génialissime of "Poinciana" (listen to the ovation of the public following this piece ...)
In short a must for any lover of this great artist to the bloated production.
